home grown
voices from production, consumption + care in food systems, land-based ecologies + collective agricultural heritage
open call
Home Grown is interested in the everyday, often invisible relationships we have with land, labour, and nourishment. It listens to the voices embedded in farming, cooking, harvesting, feeding, and surviving. It asks how collective agricultural knowledge, inherited practices, and embodied care shape who we are and how we live together.
We welcome work that reflects on food not only as sustenance, but as memory, politics, labour, identity, and connection to land.
artistic mediums
We encourage you to explore diverse artistic mediums, that can be displayed in both online and in-person formats (tbc location) including but not limited to:
Painting, drawing, and illustration
Sculpture and installation (Images of work)
Photography and digital art
Mixed media and collage
Performance and interactive art
Video art and animation (submit as image stills or video links)
SPECIAL CALL
We are particularly welcoming stories, recipes, and oral histories that explore farming, food preparation, and the narratives attached to them.
